Healthy, Fit & Fun

Who wants to get fit for FREE? Healthy, Fit & Fun promotes exercise and good health in a fun, group setting. TEA partners with health clubs around Boston to bring a diverse array of free fitness classes to the Esplanade. Classes are held in the evening or mid-morning and are free and open to the public of all ages and abilities.

The 2012 season wrapped up on August 31st. With 12 partners and over 3,100 participants, we had a wonderful season. We look forward to 2013! Stay tuned for details…

Community Run

Mondays:

6:00pm – Running Form Workshop with Marathon Sports

Staff certified in Natural Form Running curriculum, byNewton Running, will explore four simple components that will help to reduce the strain that leads to injury, and help you run faster, longer, and more comfortably than ever.

6:30pm – Warm-up with Equinox

A professional trainer will get you ready for your run around the Charles.

6:50pm – Join the run with Social Boston Sports

Join a 3, 5 or 7 mile run with friends and neighbors around the Charles. Choose the route that’s best for you!

Meet at the Hatch Shell

Whether you hit the pavement every day or you’re just getting started, runners at all levels can jump into a 3, 5, or 7 mile fun run around the Charles that has been attracting dozens since April. Runs end at McGreevy’s where you can enjoy appetizers and socialize. Lace up and run on down!

Pick your route! Once you leave the Hatch Shell, you’ll have the option to break-up into the 3, 5, or 7 mile runs:

Zumba

Tuesdays: 6:00pm
Hatch Shell

Fusing Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves, nothing is more fun and healthy than a high energy Zumba workout. Routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined with resistance training. Come give it a shot on the Esplanade.

Sunset Yoga

Wednesdays: 6:00pm
Fiedler Field (Arthur Fiedler Memorial Head)

Whether you’re a beginner or expert, come join our yoga program while enjoying beautiful river views. Increase your flexibility and muscle tone, while achieving calmness, stress reduction and overall body awareness. Namaste!

Classes led by Exhale Spa (July 10th-August 1st) and The Sports Club/LA (August 8th-31st). Supported by OMBE.

 

Boot Camp

Thursdays: 6:00pm
Fiedler Field (Arthur Fiedler Memorial Head)

Looking for a full body workout? Then come to the park for an aggressive, military-style, circuit workout featuring high-intensity conditioning and power moves. The beautiful setting will take your mind off of the burn!

Gentle Flow

Fridays: 9:30am
Fiedler Field (Arthur Fiedler Memorial Head)

Start your day with a relaxing yet healthful practice. Enjoy a class that includes flowing postures, breath work, and stretching. This all-levels class will help students to increase strength, flexibility, and mindfulness.
