M.V.P. of the Month - November's Tulip Bulb Planters at the Hatch Shell

Students from Suffolk and MIT universities, Young Alumni Volunteers Association (YAVA), Northeastern University's Alpha Delta Phi fraternity, Omega Phi Beta sorority, and Iota Phi Theta fraternity all helped plant over 2,000 tulip bulbs in front of the Hatch Shell over two very chilly weekends in early November. These hardy volunteers dug up all the old expired bulbs, fertilized and turned over all the soil, and methodically planted new tulip bulbs in the beds right in front of the Hatch Shell stage. It was a major endeavor and we all look forward to the beautiful flower display that will come up this spring. Thanks to all these groups of volunteers who gave their time, physical strength, and commitment to become our December Motivated Volunteers for the Park.
