Get Involved

Together, we can transform the Esplanade.

For nearly a century, the metropolitan Boston community has enjoyed the Charles River Esplanade. But our park's longevity has contributed to a misconception that it is invulnerable.

The fact is, the character, landscape, and amenities of the Boston Esplanade are at risk due to the inadequate maintenance and insufficient funding that took place over the last two decades. Today, maintenance and restoration work are further jeopardized by budget cuts, and The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), the state agency that oversees the Esplanade, does not possess the resources to meet the park's urgent needs.

That's where we come in. The Esplanade Association is dedicated to raising funds, building partnerships, recruiting volunteers, and planning for a brighter future for this historic landmark. If you treasure the Boston Esplanade as we do, we invite you to learn more about our projects and programs, and to find out how you can get involved in the Esplanade's Renaissance.
